Grocery shopping is my least favorite things to do. I have teenagers, so I do it a lot. My biggest peeve is getting home with 10 bags of groceries and someone asking if I remembered Almond Milk or Frosted Flakes. Of course I didn’t, it wasn’t on the list. If it ain’t on the the list, well, you get the point. In the end, it doesn’t matter who forgot to tell who. I’ll be making another trip to the store. Ugh.
Since I started using Cola to create a collaborative shopping lists, I have seen the number of extra trips to the store go way down.
When I go to the store, I use the To Do List Cola Bubble to create a shopping list. It has totally changed the way we shop. For instance:
Tap on the bubble picker and add the To Do List Cola Bubble to a new or existing conversation.
Name the To Do List whatever you’d like. We’ll use “Shopping List” and add an emoji just for fun.
Add items to the list.
For multiple items put a number in front of it, or in parenthesis.
Send the To Do List bubble so everyone on the thread can see it.
Adding items to the list
Tap on the shopping list bubble to maximize it. Add more items, or edit existing ones.
Claiming items on the list
Everyone in the thread can claim items on the list. This let’s people know who’s responsible for what. Maximize the bubble by tapping on it. Swipe the item to the right to reveal the claim button and tap on it. Their name will appear under it as claimed.
Checking off items
Once you have an item, simply tap on the radio button next to it to check it off the list.
Lastly, you can remove items from the list. Just swipe left to reveal the delete button and tap on it.
That’s all there is to it. Creating shopping lists in Cola is simple and powerful. You can send this shopping list bubble to everyone in your contacts. If they have Cola, it appear in the thread. If they don’t, they’re receive a link to a web version of the exact bubble they can interact with.
